Year 1

In maths reception children are working on number recogntion and how to write simple maths sentences and caculated addition probems using numicon.

The children did a project on weather, and some chidren decided to make rain catchers; some caught the rain sucessfully, and some children learnt that a card raincatcher was not so effective, and that they woud choose a different material if they were to make another rain catcher.

Unfortunately yesterday, we had to cancel our schoo trip to Danby Dale National Park due to extreme weather conditions on the North Yorkshire Moors. We will rearrange the trip to be after Christmas.. we will keep you posted.

Our Christmas tree will be arriving soon, which is once again being donated by the Standeven Family. If your child/ children would like to enter our Christmas tree decoration competition, they can bring their decorations into school, labelled, with £1 donation to FOHS (Friends of Husthwaite School).
