Class 3 News

It has been fantastic to see Class 3 beavering away.  In maths we have moved on from looking purely at place value and are now developing our understanding of addition and subtraction.  In our English work, we have written new story endings for our book 'Mold and the Poison Plot'.  Please check out the star writer board.  In topic, we have been building paper models of castles, looking at the defensive features.  We have now evaluated these and will be building the real thing over the coming weeks.

A few letters have gone out recently.  Young Voices reply slips should already be back as numbers had to be confirmed by today, Friday 28th September.  Please also make sure you send in the reply slips for Helmsley Castle and Crucial Crew.

Curriculum Information Leaflets

Year 5

Year 6

A reminder to Year 6 parents that the deadline for applying to your choice of secondary schools is coming up. Please see the link for more details: https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/timelines-and-important-dates-schools-admissions

I am also sorry to confirm that bikeability will not be going ahead this year due to funding cuts from North Yorkshire.

On a positive note, our extra curricular activities are also going well.  Recently in our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) club we have been performing 'tricks' and then looking at how they work.  So far we have kept water in an upturned glass using only paper and card, and experimented with perspective using cameras.

Finally, tickets are still available for our puppet show 'The am-A-zing Thing' on Monday 8th October at 4p.m. The actors are happy to show how the puppets work after the performance.  Please see Mrs Dixon for tickets.
