Class 3

Over the last few weeks in Class 3, we have been reading Peter Dickinson’s ‘The Weathermonger’.  The children have been learning about persuasive language through the context of the book.  The two main characters have fled England and arrive in France but will the Department des Immigres let them in?  Class 3 have had to persuade the officials.

In maths we have been learning about fractions.  We have converted mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa. We will continue to investigate fractions and will soon be using all 4 operations using fractions.

The children have also been taking part in Forest Schools sessions with Mr Houghton.  We have learnt many skills from team building and leadership to measuring the age of trees and building shelters.

Christmas, dare we mention it, is nearly upon us. Last year, and I believe in previous years, we put out a call for jam jars filled with sweets.  Please can we have as many jam jars (with lids on) filled with sweets as possible – don’t feel limited to just the one…

The Christmas fair is on Friday 7th December 2.30-5p.m. The children in Class 3 have designed and will be making stalls for this.  Please come along and support the school.
